30 Book Meme (4)

Day 4: What is your favorite book of your favorite series?

Well, since my favorite Young Adult series is The Wolves of Mercy Falls, my favorite one is Shiver.

Here is the synopsis in case you don't know what it's about:

Grace and Sam share a kinship so close they could be lovers or siblings. But they also share a problem. When the temperature slips towards freezing, Sam reverts to his wolf identity and must retreat into the woods to protect his pack. He worries that eventually his human side will fade away and he will be left howling alone at the lonely moon. A stirring supernatural teen romance.

So why do I love this book so much?
There are so many aspects of this book that make it great: the writing, the characters, the romance, and the plot. I want to listen to this book in audio just to see if the writing is as beautiful out loud as it is in my head. Truly, Maggie Stiefvater is a phenomenal writer! If you haven't checked this out then it's time that you did. Buy it, swap for it, check it out from the library, steal it from your friends! Do whatever you can to get your hands on it. If you're patient ask for it for Christmas. But putting that tangent aside - back to what I love about this book. Sam and Grace are the two main characters. Grace is in love with the wolves that she sees from the porch of the back of her house, particularly the one with yellow eyes. Sam has a tragic past and he becomes a wolf for the winter - every winter. He feels his time is running short, and that he might not ever change back plus there's something about the girl who watched them. You haven't read a paranormal romance like this, the wolves are unique, specifically their situation as wolves and humans. Sam and Grace have a heart pounding romance that anyone would be able to enjoy. They aren't the only characters though, the minor characters are also just as great and captivating. Yet, a book is nothing without a good plot. If it doesn't have a plot that can suck you in then it won't keep you interested. This book has a great plot with twists that are unexpected and, of course, a breath taking cliff hanger.

Have you read Shiver? If yes what did you think? If not - why have you been putting it off for so long!!?? - Just kidding but seriously you need to go get it! NOW! Trust me if you post that you didn't like the book I'm not going to go ninja on you - everyone is allowed to have their own opinion!
